  Why Shengda?


Shengda University has come a long way since its Founder, Mr. Wang, cycled from door to door to establish his first school. The university is now a successful chain of higher education, spreading across mainland China and Taiwan. Situated in the heart of the Middle Kingdom, Henan is home to Chinas 3,500-year history and is only a stone's throw away from several of the country's most visited attractions.

The University is situated a short bus ride away from the city center in the Twin Lakes Developing Zone. The area is alive with students, as it hosts to three large universities and several schools. The campus caters over 16,000 students and has several picturesque lakes, pagodas, causeways and bridges. The students are always making use of the excellent sports facilities sited around the 730,000 sq meter campus. The accommodation is cozy with facilities such as a gym, games room, computer room and TV/movie rooms for the foreign teachers to use.

With only 18 hours teaching per week, there is lots of time to master the Chinese language. Lessons are provided once a week for teachers who are interested. There is also a free school bus offered for the foreign teachers to use on Saturdays. Thanks to Jet Li, Henans Shaolin Kung Fu has rocketed in popularity around the world and if you fancy your chances, the students will be more than happy to show you how to mix it up with the best of them! Between your weekends and more than 7 weeks paid vacation before your summer holiday, the location allows for some of the best traveling within China. Since Henan is one of the least developed provinces, the cost of living is exceptionally low, with a local workers salary set at between 500 and 1000 RMB, The salary offered for foreign teachers allows you to travel and have a comfortable lifestyle during your stay in China.
